Nanjing, Jiangsu, PRC – On June 14, WPIC Marketing + Technologies welcomed the Canadian Consul General to Shanghai, Weldon Epp and Trade Commissioner David Dunkerley to the unveiling of the WPIC’s brand-new warehouse facility, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu province of the People’s Republic of China.

The event, which featured a tour of the warehouse and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, was the first public event at the brand-new facility, a 5,000 sq. ft. space filled with stacks of American and Canadian goods, approximately 25 full-time customer service representatives, and processing capabilities.

The Nanjing logistics warehouse is WPIC’s second facility in the city of Nanjing. It represents the company’s commitment to both its clients’ needs and to servicing the growing consumer demand for e-commerce goods across China and Japan.

WPIC’s Nanjing warehouse perfectly serves Canadian and American brands that wish to meet China and Japan’s massive demand for foreign goods but lack the warehousing needs to justify a stand-alone agreement with Alibaba or JD.com. It is estimated that due to the pricing of Alibaba’s logistics facilities, brands making between $1 and $10 million USD annually in China or Japan would stand to benefit the most from a warehouse of this size.

“By continuing to invest in Nanjing and opening this warehouse facility, we’ve completely lowered the barrier to entry for companies who want to do e-commerce in China and Japan,” says WPIC CEO, Jacob Cooke. “By importing products (either manufactured in China or shipped from a company’s North American headquarters), acting as merchant of record, processing orders and sending them out directly to customers across China and Japan, our facility is perfect for brands who are interested in entering this market for the first time.”

The facility features top-tier CSR talent, 24-hour security monitoring, and packaging and shipping capabilities in a climate-controlled, clean facility. It is estimated that over 100 packages are shipped from WPIC’s warehouse across Asia each day.

“Nanjing has been a great city for WPIC and we’re expecting to continue to invest in this region with additional warehousing capabilities, an additional e-commerce office, and dozens of additional high-skilled jobs,” added Cooke.
